"Sawadee" Land of Smiles - Thailand

finally back from Thailand, can't say if its a relief or i miss the place... the place is pretty fun all the same, minus the drunk-hangovers and the food poisoning... Overall it was still a very fun trip considering the company i had and of course the places i visited and activities that we had....

began with flying from Changi airport on this little aircraft carrier from AirAsia... the plane is tiny... the short wingspan got everyone worried initially but fears were allayed when the nonsense got started on the plane. Dai dees and Bridge were the order of the day, the main game had to be Daniel, Andrew, Angel and Renhan, loser of each game gotta lick slippers... haha... poor angel and andrew, cant remember how many times they licked renhan and daniel's slippers...

Arrived at past midnight, and managed to get rooms at local Inns at Kao San, rested for the night before shopping begins the next day... supper that night was funny too, daming keep getting suaned by the locals for having small eyes... *lol*

had my first thai massage the next day before we embarked on our journey to southern thailand for our boat to Koh Phangan and Koh Tao... the beach at Koh Phangan was beautiful, water is clear and shallow, we had lotsa fun at the beaches with the beach games, lotsa caucasians ard... the spanishs and the italians are OH-SO-HOT... seriously... the entire beach is littered with pple sun-tanning... topless and covered... plenty of bare-nakedness to go ard... nobody really cared much anyway, the beach was too beautiful to pay attention to human beauty... thou, i must say, so faces are too pretty not to be head turners... the party at night commemorated the month's full moon... it was wild and havoc... coinciding with world cup din take away the fun... got intoxicated from drinking 8 buckets of liquer... it was really crazy... head spinning and whirling... i din even know how i made my way back to the hotel room... through the streets of carnival as well... quite amazed... the next day was terrible, i was basically stoning and lost... haha... but we gotta leave for Koh Tao where our dives start... i was really regretting that i drank so much... i dun wanna miss my dives..

Luckily, at Koh Tao we have a day's rest, so by the next day i recovered enough to dive... phew... Koh Tao is a tiny island by itself compared to Koh Phangan... serene and pretty and got this village feel thou its fast becoming a popular dive site... according to the locals, there are 25 dive sites... damn mouth watering... did a total of 4 dives in total.. the clear water made everything possible.... swam through caves, in between fallen pinnacles, catching stingrays and eels in their holes and trouts as well... lucky ones like han they all managed to catch sight of giant turtles and lobsters... the fishes are beautiful and colourful... as they swim in between the corals... can feel fishes nibbling your leg... so fun and unreal... its a world out there... its the underwater world... i think its something i dun mind doing for the rest of my life.... diving and diving... we ran into a 2 groups of yellow back frusiliers in the morning dive.... there are millions of them, so much that u cant see the end of the group and all you see are shadows of dark shape... they are like wallpapers on our bedroom walls, we swam through them, they splited half and encircled us... it was damn cool to turn round and round to find yourself in the middle of a fishy whirlpool... breathtaking...

the nights were entertained largely by the world cup matches, thou we managed to rent 2 bikes and begin to explore the island on the last 2 days... managed to discover many spots with many nice views, i'm glad to have my camera with me most of the time, pity i had to depend on han for the underwater pictures thou... lorraine, thams, wingkit and siding are a great company and companions... soon, we ended our 5 day adventures on the island and are making our way back to Bangkok... it was all shopping after that... visits to the famous Chatujak(weekend bazaar) was crazy, they had all sorts of funny stuff there and its a place where one cannot finish visiting in 1 weekend... i'm serious about that... they had 30 over markets in the area selling all different kinds of things... its stuffy thou and humid and the heat is killing... but shopping paradise for the cheapos and exotic buys nonetheless... had i not been suffering from food poisoning, it could have been a paradise for me too... it all happened the day before we visited Chatujak, where we were gouging street food cos its damn cheap and tasty... in the end, i had to give the Swan Lum night market a miss and had to take cab back alone myself when the rest were having fun... damn... trapped in the cab and jam for more than an hour... its was torturous as the cab driver look like a ruffian and always talkin in thai and on the phone with his friends... makes me feel like they are plotting a robbery when he took me through unfamiliar streets, i had to mantain a tough looking front despite my illness... tough job... basically, the food poisoning killed the last part of my trip and the plans that i had... couldnt buy things that i planned for... sorry pple, becca, weizhen, viv, jingting, karen, wendy, carmen, yuan, cj, xiwen, pat and barney... din managed to get anything for you guys thou i planned to.... in the end, i came back with nothing much to boost about for my loot except for the memories and the fotos of the places and stupid things that we did... gotta share photos soon guys!!!
