From Russia with Love - Xmas came early..
was dreading the flight, in fact if not for the money, i would very much have given it up and stayed in Singapore to perhaps work on my resume... luckily my colleagues are nice... reaching moscow on the first day, i spent the entire day sleeping... think i had too much sleep debt... i slept so much that early morning the next day, i work up at 4 and watched 2 movies before heading out to Red Square and St Basil Catheral... i reckoned that its probably my last time here before i quit so i had to sightsee... esp when my camera spoilt on the way there the last time round i visited Moscow..
weather was freezing.. -7 degrees when we headed out.. no snow yet.. but we were armed.. for the worst... the wind had ripping effects on our skin thou... on our way back it started snowing lightly... its not the first time i saw snow.. its similar to the ones i had in amsterdam and zurich... light flakes.. not too heavy... den we went for dinner at the italian restaurant... the 2 waitresses were very pretty.. one was russian.. the other looked some sort of mixed... got the asian jap looks... i was looking at them and i caught them looking at me on a few occasions.. no guts to pick them up.. haha.. not with so many people ard anyway.. its snowed heavily during dinner.. by the time we came out.. the entire place is covered with white... so heavy and so thick that we actually had a snowball fight on the way back to the hotel... and took some really nice photos... Mag and Jeremy were very game too.. these are the small things which i will miss when i quit... i know.. now i am seeing russia in a different light too.. the potential of the business here and when the economy booms.. hmmm...
met sandy at the lobby... she had stories to tell.. and she said houston was snowing too.. -_-... i didnt expect that.. i last checked the weather to be in the tens, almost 20... luckily we were prepared.. to houston tomorrow... will update... till then...
flight to Houston was severely delayed... sort of heard a loud boom at my door and the aircraft tilted when we were taking off.. caused a delay of 3 hours.. we were all totally drained from working with some people who dont have any welfare at all... never mind that... due to the festive season... there was sales everywhere.. real tempting.. i was suppose to be catching up on some work during the stay there but the nice people made it hard to refuse when they planned out the itinerary to go out exploring... NASA and factory outlets... though i must say its pretty enjoyable.. i like driving in States, thou it feels weird at first on the left hand side.. but we got accustomed pretty fast. Terry and Jo got everything planned out when they brought their GPS and walkie talkie sets.. cool huh... When Terry and me were returning the cars.. we got stopped by 2 hot Texan girls driving SLR... they drove up.. honked and stopped us.. wind down the windows and asked.. hey, u wanna go party with me and my gf tonite?? we were both stunned but Terry politely declined... tts the first time i got picked up by girls in States.. pretty cool...
next day was spent resting before going by to Moscow where i met Lynda for dinner and finally back to Singapore. On the departure day, it was really freezing like -20 degrees... now u know wat moscow is like.. scenary on the way to airport was fantastic.. pity i left my camera in the bag.. sigh...
