CJ Charlene-Jayne's Departure...

early morning 530am... awoken by patrick's call.. time to wake up and send charlene off... she is the first one in our supposed A2 gang to go for exchange and she is going for a year. NOC Shanghai.. something which i thought of applying for in year 1, but time factor and money factor wasnt really on my side.

Nonetheless, i woke up promptly and wash up before putting on jeans and grabbing my jacket and headed for the car to drive down. It was freezing and i can so imagine the airport to be much worse. the little traffice made the travelling damn smooth... 25 mins, i managed to get to airport from hall, considering that i was only travelling at 80km/h... witnessing the freaky accident outside hall made my driving more cautious.

upon reaching, just nice, carmen, wendy, yuan and xiwen arrived too... den we saw charlene in a distance before we went over to her in smiles. the next event which happened proved to be one of the most traumatizing that was to follow... CJ had handed a hand luggage to the girls, inside were all her documents for registration for school, laptop charger and other impt stuff... but the girls left it in the boot. Carmen was distraughted when she realised and tried to tell charlene about it, initially CJ thought we were joking with her and we hid the bag at some corner until she turned to look around and realised everyone's face was grave, except mine. cos i din know what was going on... it was at this moment that patrick and barney arrived, soon the girls turned panicky and started calling up the cab HQ to ask for the cab in hope of tracing it and retrieving the bag... it was the second worst thing that could happen now cos the worst definitely has to be leaving the passport or air ticket at home. it was 620am then, after an hour of frantic calling, barney, patrick and me tried the airport service counter to no avail...

the girls were on the verge of tears... charlene too.. she looked hapless... of all things, this had to happen now... i know that the girls must be feeling damn shitty and all for screwing up big time... and for CJ, she must have hated this but yet can do nothing about it cos they are her closest friends... totally sucky... den CJ's aunt came into the picture... I must say that i am very impressed with her and the way that she handle the situation. calm and poised and definitely very demanding and direct, no nonsense.... apparently the cab company failed to send out messages to recall the cab in the past hour but she made sure that they did it in minutes and i must say that she is very confident and sure of what she had to do... that was why i am damn impressed... 725am time for boarding but the luggage was still yet to be found. miraculously, carmen received a call from the cab company saying that the cab is on the way back to the airport to return the luggage. once stop, everyone rushed towards the cab and i grabbed the bag and dashed into the airport hoping that it is still in time. CJ re-arranged her packing and made sure that she has everything with her before checking in... time? 740am... last call for her... just in time...

it was all traumatic because i could see that the girls were really stressed and afraid that they had screwed her up. CJ's mum was being very nice by not blaming them but scolding the cab company all the time and her aunt was definitely the most authoritative person at that time, confident and poised... in the end all turned out well and smiles came back everyone's face. thou we missed out on the gathering breakfast that was planned but in the end everyone was glad that everything turn out fine instead. there was still a bit of time for a photo session, a short on albeit. of course the usual exchange of hugs and well-wishes... a year is definitely not a short time... we will all miss her... especially her family and her 2 younger sisters, one in mgs and one in acjc.

we proceeded to breakfast after that and her aunt gave us a treat... wow... later i learnt that her aunt was a chief stewardess.. that's even more impressive... we had a good session at breakfast... first time that most of us were present in a long time for a breakfast since cj and wendy left hall. and xiwen, carmen and yuan dun eat breakfast most of the time. perhaps it could well be the last time too.... cos, me, xiwen, daming and carmen are graduating, cj wun be ard... patrick is going for exchange... sigh... i miss the gang.. we were closer back then...

in the end, it all turned out like a typical classic movie ending where everything turn out well... I certainly hope that she is coping well over there, till then... i will be a year when i next see you CJ, unless i am flying to shanghai...

we must organise more outings soon...
I wonder how Louisa (CJ's youngest sister) knows my name as she call out my name when taking photo and bringing my milo for me... weird.. i must ask CJ about it...
