Birthday...

peaceful birthday i would say.. something which i like... if i dont have a gf... which i really dun have anyway... spending the day out with my friends...

starting off is having lunch with jer-babe... i miss her.. long time since i saw her.. not since her birthday last year i guess... had lunch with her at cineleisure... its more of catching up than anything else... still enjoying each other's company i guess... after that was just wondering around town area until cara and anthea showed up.. edmund came along too... we went to nydc at heeren... near adrian's office.. so he was able to pop by once in a while... spent the rest of the afternoon lazing there.. catching... desserting... mealing... chatting.. until dinner time... where its time for them to have some couple time... parted with them since... while they went off for movies... and me.. came home for dinner... simple birthday celebrations which i appreciate a lot.. cos they got me a cake and sang me a damn loud birthday song in the middle of orchard road... not bad for an old man i guess...

not forgetting the many many well wishes from other friends... thanks for remembering my birthday guys... i guess when u grow older.. friends become more precious... true for my case at least...

*was flipping through the papers just now when i came across 2 articles written in by 2 singaporeans... one was commenting about the 24 hours service of the petrol stations in singapore, stating that spore is so small.. and plenty of petrol stations ard.. there is no need for every one of them to be opened 24 hours.. which can cut down on a lot of resources... think that was something really observant and well pointed out... u made a point there mr. singaporean

the other article.. which took up an entire page.. was a guy who was complaining that the telecast of the aussie open finals being disrupted by another tv program. which he thought was a damn big issue that he wrote in to give in his 50 dollars worth... c'mon man... the whole world is worried about global warming and increasing crimes and violence and so many other issues... but you only wrote in to complain about your tv program? the shallowness of some singaporeans... time to wake up man... take a look at the world around you and the living conditions of the poor people overseas... they dont even know whats a tv... get a life dude!!!

so much for a birthday post... hehz...

The Silent birthday countdown

i asked ruihan out after my flight... at a lost of what to do... she suggested going to SIM to sing KTV.. which i agreed cos of some family issues that she was facing... tried to ask more pple.. luckily yeeming, shenyong and kenji were able to make it... god, it was damn long since i last saw them... since JC... that was a good 6 years ago... 2 years of army and 4 years of uni... to think we were hanging out together everyday in the past and always go jurong to play soccer... they jio for soccer this saturday... i'll see if i am tempted enough given my sunday morning flight...

they are not buddies for nothing... think the friendship and the bond is still there.. just the little bit of unfamiliarity cos haven met too long.. otherwise the feeling is right.. just like before... not surprising.. after so long.. no one remembered my birthday as i silently countdown at midnight... but i am already more than happy, in fact delighted to have their company... such impromptu-ness but they still made it despite having to work the next day... thanks my buddies... some beer.. some singing.. some company.. some old friends... silent birthday... i dun mind.. its the company that i appreciate... =)

London

so surprised to get called up for london again... less than a week after i have been rostered to go there... i was expecting a turn or something for my standby... i dun mind going adeliade... since i haven been there before.. but any long flight is welcomed as long as it doesnt disrupt my plans to watch DP... luckily london doesnt... with the extra money its certainly good in fact.. except for the fact that i missed out playing soccer again... something which upsets me quite a lot... cos i seriously seriously miss playing soccer...

luckily the crew is pretty nice.. Kelly seems to have a certain liking for me.. she is very nice to me... Gerrie is very cute... Mark.. serene's recent exbf is the most familiar face.. the issue between him and serene din surface, cos i sensed something wrong.. the rest of the crew are pretty nice as well... but probably due to fatigue... i was indoors most of the time.. despite all the promises that i made to myself to wanna thoroughly explore piccadilly circus, leicester square and going to tower bridge area.. fatigue got the better of me... only managed to meet sindy there for a short while, walked ard the hotel area and finally went to primark at bond street.. that summed it up cos was suppose to meet nikki.. miscomm...

slept most of the time anyway... but alrite lah.. saved the money... i will get london again i am sure.. till then, i shall store more energy to go exploring...

London-ING!!!

finally got to london, its one of the places that i always wanted to visit.. cos its the capital of England, home of so many things... plays, football, industrial revolution and harry potter...

its good to do flight with people you are comfortable with... james is like a bro to me.. May.. my sny.. is doing her 1st and 2nd solo with me... before london was jakarta nightstop... simple and relax... fever threatened to derail my london.. luckily 2 panadols solved the problem for me and i am up and away again. with Jill and yunshan suppose to meet me in london.

with plans to visit the famous places in london and watching an epl match... tt kept me going excited throughout the whole flight and of course with very good colleagues. met Jill for breakfast at some muffin place for english style breakfast... before she brought me ard... visited buckingham palace, but it wasnt open for visitint cos its change of guards. after that visited Big Ben and London Eye.. time wasnt on our side as we have to rush down to seven sisters station to try to get tickets for Tottenham vs Sunderland. To no avail as tickets were all sold out. May and James wanted to follow us but they had they own plans before that... phone system was a bit screwed up so din manage to contact them, by the time James came it was halftime and he din manage to get in.. For us, we bought tix in the black market at a whooping 50 pounds... but since its my first epl match.. i dun really mind its still within the price i am willing to pay.. match was pretty exciting, the atmosphere electric, pitch was small thou.. not that wat we saw on tv where it seem gigantic... camera trick i guess.. even the players dun look as pro as they shud be.. sunderland got plenty of heart and should have gotten something from the game as they totally outplayed spurs in the 2nd half, plus a few bad calls against them... tough luck guys... they went down 2-0

after the match... hooliganism at its best when abuse was hurled and objects were thrown at each other between the 2 sets of fans outside the stadium. good experience for me.. haha.. rushed down to leicester square to meet yunshan and steven for dinner, korean food was on the menu and it was a treat from steven cos i brought stuff all the way for yunshan. after dinner was more sightseeing as they brought me to walk ard leicester square and piccadilly circus, trafulgar square before heading down to big ben, river thames and london eye again. Coffee by the river was refreshing.. something i quite enjoy... they wanted to bring me to cambridge the next time i come over.. i dun mind an eye opener...

suppose to meet jill for visiting tower of london and tower bridge and borough market... but time was tight she can only meet in the afternoon and i had to leave at 6pm.. so that was postponed... its mainly a touch and go affair.. but i will be back for more of london the next time i come... mission unaccomplished thou... i think stonehenge and a more thorough visiting and watching a play is on the menu the next time i visit london.

can't wait!!!!
